"If you want to be reborn,
let yourself die.
If you want to be given everything,
give everything up."
Our brain senses what feels positive or negative.
It searches for patterns.
At first we’re indifferent to it, then we develop perspective on it.
At first it doesn’t exist to us, then it does exist.
At first it was instrumentally enjoyable, then it becomes intrinsically enjoyable.
And back and forth again.
We have no objective passions.
What we like and do not is extrapolated by the beautiful machine in our skulls.
Whether it’s causation or a reason we extrapolate for ourselves.
